HUNTING DOG PROGRAMS

Vickie Lamb Several choices are available beyond custom blocks for all types and levels of hunting dog and hunt test-ready retrievers. If you have the dog, but don't have the time, simply choose the skills you want in your completely trained dog and enroll in one of these programs.

HUNTING DOG STANDARD
Generally a three month program, this choice includes obedience training, collar conditioning, force fetch, work from a dove stool, pit blind and boat, introduction to all types of hunting paraphernalia such as decoys, portable dog blinds, calls, dog vests...and extensive marking on land and water, steady to shot and introduction and refinement on double marked retrieves. This graduate is ready to be exposed to the thrills of hunting or basic hunt test work.

HUNTING DOG ADVANCED ONE
Completion of the standard program or its equivalent of that training level is required for this program. Introduction to casting, Double-T, work on sight blinds, numerous types of handling drills, land and water work, and multiple retrieves are emphasized. This graduate is ready for many different kinds of hunting scenarios and is prepared for all types of advanced training from you.

HUNTING DOG ADVANCED TWO-PREMIER LEVEL
Completion of both the standard program and advanced one or the equivalent is required. All aspects of hunting dog training will be polished. Blind work will be taken to the "cold blind" level, diversion work, multiple retrieves in all types of hunting scenarios. The graduate of this program is truly a polished dog capable of doing his job virtually anywhere and under any terrain or circumstances; he only needs actual hunting experience to capitalize on his skills and talents. He/she is also ready for advanced hunt test level training.
